They are considered a 'minor aspect' of the game. Well personally I believe that the achievements are a major aspect and therefore should be addressed in detail. Therefore this guide will help obtain the achievements "Get Some Grubs" and "Piñata Party". I like to refer to this walkthrough as a "grubthrough". There are a total of 333 Grubs and 9 web caches, some of which are well hidden. Time and patients is required in order to claim these achievements as it is easy to walk past a hand full of grubs or a web cache that is camouflage on the ceiling. =============================================================================== Chapter 1: To The White Forest =============================================================================== Lets get some grubs... The first five Grubs will be discovered on the wall of an entrance to a cave. Jump down into the water below and proceed into the cave. Grub 6 will be on the wall to the left grub 7 will be on the wall to the right. Grub 8 will be on the ground directly in front as you proceed forward. Grubs 9-10 will be squashed after breaking the web. Grub 11 will be on the ground in the same spot as grub 9-10 Grubs 12-13 will be in a dip to the left Grub 14 will be high up on the cave wall Grubs 15-17 will be in a group on three on the cave floor after proceeding on Grubs 18-19 will be on the cave floor after the save checkpoint Grubs 20-22 are squashed after breaking the web Grub 23 is directly to the left. Jumping down into the next section. Kill the Antlion Grubs 24-26 will be in a corner directly behind you After killing the next two Antlions Grub 27 in on a wall next to a locker Grub 28 is hiding inside the locker Grub 29 the wall of an entrance hole Grub 30 is at the bottom of this tunnel Grub 31 is on the tunnel floor Grub 32 to the left of the tunnels exit Kill the next two Antlions If you can't already tell we are going to have a field day here. So pull out your pistol. I short 12 Grubs off the wall. So that should bring you total up to 44 Grubs Grubs 45-46 are on the floor of the cave when proceeding up. Grubs 47-48 when you shoot the web Grub 49 on the cave floor just past the web. Shoot the next Antlion Grub 50-53 on the wall to the right Grub 54 in the glowing cave to the right Shoot the Antlion Grubs 55-56 on the cave floor to the left Grubs 57-58 to the left in a dip past the water Grub 59 up high to the right The first web cache is here under the water. This is one of nine webs that must be broken throughout Half-Life Episode 2. Grub 60 on the tunnel ceiling under the water Grubs 61-62 to the right after coming out of the water Grubs 63-64 on the cave floor. Grubs 65-66 on the right in a cave dip Grubs 67 on the left in an alcove Grubs 68-69 on the cave floor past the Barnacles Grub 70 on the wall to the right Grubs 71-72 on the floor Grubs 73-76 in a web on the wall to the left Grub 77 at the far end of the cave Grubs 78-89 to the left on the cave floor Grub 80 to the right a little further on Grub 81 is a little further on again Kill the three Antlions Grubs 82-84 on the cave floor Grub 85 on the cave wall in an alcove Grubs 86-87 on the cave floor in the next section Web cache 6 is here Grubs 88-89 when you shoot the web Grub 90 on the floor where the web was Grub 91 a the cave floor =============================================================================== Chapter 2: This Vortal Coil =============================================================================== Grubs 92-93 on the cave floor straight after entering chapter 2 There aren't any grubs for a while. (esay to miss) Grub 114 on the ground past the Antlions you kill. Grubs 115-116 on the wall to the left Grubs 117-118 on the floor a little further on Web cache 3 is a little further on to the right Grubs 119-120 are in the alcove where you shot the web Grubs 121-122 on the floor Grubs 123-126 on the wall to the left under a web Grub 127 on the walkway across the cave Grub 128 a little ahead. (this may get killed in the fire fight) Grubs 129-130 as you proceed on Grubs 131-132 a little further on again. (somehow they are pre-squashed) Web cache 4 to the left Grubs 133-134 in this alcove Grubs 135-137 on the ground ahead Grubs 138-139 on the cave wall to the right Grubs 140-141 on the wall to the right. Web cache 5 on the ceiling. Grub 142 in this alcove on the ceiling Jump down into the next section Grubs 143-145 on the ground here Head through the gate. Grubs 146-148 are here Grubs 149-151 on the shaft wall Grubs 152-153 and 153-156 on the floor here Grubs 157-159 in behind the fence Grub 160 on the cave floor Grub 161-162 in the opposite corner Grub 163 under the lift on the ground Grub 164-165 on the shaft wall Grub 166 on the wall need the left Grubs 167-168 on the cave floor Grubs 169-171 on the floor near the generator Hooray. Just over half the grubs squashed Grub 172 in the cart to the right Grubs 173-181 should be squashed by the runaway second run away cart a little further on Climb gthe ladder, move the bell and jump down OMG you've just sped past half a dozen grubs. Well relax we can get these later. After plunging into the water find the ladder Grubs 182-184 on the shaft wall Grubs 185-187 further up the shaft Grubs 188-189 a little higher Grub 190 to the right of the ladder at the top Grubs 191-193 just below the ceiling of the shaft Grubs 194-196 on a rock face to the left Grubs 197-199 on the ground near there Follow the tracks back up Grubs 200-202 on the ceiling Grubs 203-205 on the ground near there Go back down and head into an alcove on your right Grubs 206-208 on the ground just past the entrance Grubs 209-210 in an alcove to the right Grubs 211-212 ahead on the cave floor Pull out you pistol and look up Grubs 213-217 are high up to the left Grubs 218-221 are high up to the right. The other grubs lower down to the left can be gotten in a moment So just proceed on for now Grubs 222-224 are to the right on this alcove Grub 225 to the left of the exit Grub 226 is high up right above the alcove exit Enjoy the fire fight for now. No grubs here. After heading up the lift proceed through all the rooms and drop down the hole. After shooting down the fence... Grubs 227-228 are on the ceiling Grubs 229-230 are directly in front Turn left and proceed forward Grub 231-232 are on the right hand wall Head back up Grub 233-236 are directly in front Head round, down and through the fan Grub 237 is in the pipe passed the fan Grub 238-239 are behind the hole Grub 240 is on the wall of the hole Grub 241-242 are at the bottom of the hole Grubs 243-246 when you shoot the web Grubs 247-248 on the cave wall directly in front Grubs 249-250 in an alcove after coming out of the water Grubs 251-254 in another alcove to the right Grubs 255-256 are past the Barnacles in alcove on the ground Grubs 257-259 are in a grub nest to the right. Jump out of the nest. Kill the three Antlions and proceed right Grubs 260-263 are in a grub nest to the left Run past the large Antlion Guardian. Grubs 264-270 are in the grub nest to the left Grubs 271-272 are on the alcove wall after existing the grub nest Grubs 273-284 are in the following grub nest Grubs 285-286 are on the exit of this nest Grubs 287-289 on the entrace to the next grub nest Grubs 290-293 are in the grub nest Grubs 294-295 are on the exit of this nest Run past the Large Antlion again Grubs 296-300 are in the following grub nest Grubs 301-302 on the entrace on the next grub nest Grubs 203-309 are in the next glowing grub nest Grubs 310-311 on the exist wall of the nest Run to the shaft and dive in There are a total of 21 grubs in the next room Web caches 6,7, 8 and 9 are in this room. Two on the ceiling and two on the right hand side of the cave as you enter 1 grub in the alcove to the right after shooting the web cache 3 in the corner 1 on the ledge of the alcove just before the other web cache 3 grubs on the floor near here 2 grubs on ceiling outside one of the web cache 1 grub inside this web cache 2 grubs on the ceiling outside other other web cache 1 grub inside this web cache 3 grubs at the back of the shaft 1 grub near generator 3 grubs past the generator door This should bring your Grub total to 332 Watch the cut scene after proceeding up the lift Grub 333, the last little pest can be seen through wooden slits after proceeding back up the lift after Alyx has been revived. =============================================================================== End Comments =============================================================================== Wasn't as easy as you orginal thought, was it?
